Impacts of Cyberbullying on young Australians

Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that takes place online and can have severe negative effects on both the person doing the bullying and the person being bullied.

For the person being bullied, cyberbullying can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, as well as physical symptoms such as headaches and stomachaches. It can also lead to difficulties in building and maintaining relationships and can contribute to social isolation. In severe cases, cyberbullying can lead to self-harm and even suicide.

For the person doing the bullying, cyberbullying can lead to an increase in aggressive behavior and a decrease in empathy. It can also result in legal consequences and long-term damage to their reputation. Cyberbullying can also be addictive, as the anonymity and distance provided by the internet can make it easier for the bully to continue their behavior without consequences.

Our organization educates young adults on responsible online behavior and empowers them to prevent cyberbullying. We teach them about the negative consequences of cyberbullying, both for the person doing the bullying and the person being bullied. We also educate them on how to be aware of cyberbullying and how to take action if they or someone they know is being bullied. We provide them with strategies for responding to cyberbullying and ways to support and empower those who have been affected by cyberbullying. Through this education, we empower young adults to be responsible digital citizens and to create a safer online environment for everyone.
